What is VHOLUME?

VHOLUME is a melancholic first-person parkour adventure by Nathan Grange, Léonard Lemaitre and Niels Tiercelin — the team behind the cult free game BABBDI — published by IronEqual. You play Robert, a citizen of a derelict brutalist capital run by an all-controlling Ministry, on a bureaucratic quest to restore his family's revoked ration tickets. It launched on Steam on August 21, 2026 at $7.99 and sits at Overwhelmingly Positive (97.8% of 1,073 reviews as of Aug 27).

The game ships with 31 main levels and 31 unlockable B-Sides — see the full level list with author times, find every unlock in the B-Side locations guide, track down every NPC, and learn the movement tech that turns clean runs into speedruns. A free demo is still on Steam if you want to taste it first.

Get Started in 5 Steps

  1. Tune your setup first. Pick controller or keyboard and fix motion blur before your first run — see controls & settings.
  2. Learn to keep momentum. Jumping, climbing and sliding chain into speed — the basics are in the movement guide.
  3. Run the 31 main levels. Follow the level list and use the official author times as your pace benchmark.
  4. Talk to the NPCs you pass. Two achievements hang on conversations — the NPC locations guide shows who is where.
  5. Hunt the B-Sides. One collectable per level unlocks a remix stage — every spot is in the B-Side locations guide.

FAQ

What is VHOLUME?

VHOLUME is a melancholic first-person parkour adventure by Nathan Grange, Léonard Lemaitre and Niels Tiercelin — the developers of the free cult game BABBDI — published by IronEqual. You play Robert, running, climbing and sliding through a derelict brutalist capital to restore his family's revoked ration tickets. It released on Steam on August 21, 2026.

How much does VHOLUME cost? Is it free?

VHOLUME is a paid game at $7.99 USD on Steam (it launched with a 10% discount). It is not free-to-play, but a free demo — expanded in June 2026 with multiplayer and extra maps — is still available on the Steam page.

Is it 'VHOLUME' or 'Volume'?

The game is spelled VHOLUME — a deliberate play on 'volume'. It is unrelated to Mike Bithell's 2015 stealth game Volume, and searching 'volume game' mostly returns math tools, so keep the H when you search.
