VHOLUME Speedrun Guide: Boards, Categories & WRs
The Board
VHOLUME’s community leaderboard lives at speedrun.com/VHOLUME. As of Aug 27, 2026 it carries:
- Any% — full-game category.
- Individual level boards, starting with Racetrack No Prespeed and Conapt_00 InBounds — note both names encode rules (“no prespeed” = no carried momentum into the start; “InBounds” = no out-of-bounds routes), which tells you where the community expects the exploits to be.
The board is young — the full game is barely a week old and verified full-game runs are still landing — so this is genuinely the best moment to get a name on it.
Where the Scene Came From
The speedrun culture predates 1.0. Through spring 2026 the free demo’s racetrack became a WR battleground — runs pushed under 25 seconds against the level’s 27-second author time, with WR videos trading places on YouTube. That racing loop — author time → bronze/silver/gold → community WR — is built into the game itself.
Starting Out
- Race the medals first. Gold times are the developers’ own speedrun benchmarks; clearing a level’s gold is a legitimate first “run”. The full ladder is on the level list.
- Use ghosts as pace cars. Multiplayer ghosts show you exactly where a faster player slides, jumps and skips — the game’s own replay-study tool.
- Learn the movement loop — slide-chains and climb-skips carry every category; see the movement guide.
- Pick your rule set. In-bounds routing is about line optimization; out-of-bounds hunting (“breaking the labyrinthine design”, as the developers put it) is its own discipline — check each board’s rules before you grind a route.
Level Nicknames You’ll Hear
Runners shorthand levels by codename — conapt, racetrack, showers00, openoffice — all of them are in our level list. “conapt00 WR” and “level 2 WR” queries refer to the same IL racing the board formalizes.
When your times plateau, the kreedz B-Side and the other movement-gimmick B-Sides are the community’s favorite technique gyms.
