VHOLUME Secrets & Easter Eggs Guide
Three Layers of Secrets
VHOLUME is built for players who leave the intended line. Its secrets stack into three layers:
- B-Side collectables — one per level (two in racetrack00), each unlocking a remix stage. Fully mapped in our B-Side locations guide.
- Hidden rooms and easter eggs — off-route spaces, odd objects and scripted moments that reward exploration but unlock nothing mechanical.
- Hidden achievements — 5 of the game’s 14 Steam achievements have hidden descriptions.
Hidden Rooms & Level Secrets
The community documented these fastest for the early game:
- racetrack00 — the opening hub/racetrack level hides multiple secrets beyond its two B-Side collectables; a dedicated community guide (“Racetrack00 Hidden secrets” on Steam) walks every spot. Players even ask about hidden geometry here months after first playing the demo.
- conaptend — has both a hidden collectable and a separately documented secret area; searches for “conaptend secret” are among the most common VHOLUME queries.
- conapt06 — yes, there is something hidden (“conapt06 is there hidden” is a real search — the answer is the same as everywhere: one collectable, plus off-route space worth checking).
- The demo levels — “demo secrets” built the game’s exploration reputation months before 1.0: vertical phone-view rooms, odd objects and unlockable spaces, most of which carried into the full game’s early levels. See the demo guide.
A spoiler-light method that works in every level: finish your medal run first, then replay the level walking backwards along the route. Collectables and secret rooms are placed to be visible from the “wrong” direction.
Hidden Achievements
Five achievements have hidden descriptions on Steam. The visible nine track medals, NPC conversations and finishing the campaign (see the level list for the medal ladder). The hidden five, without spoiling the how:
- Distant memory, The shape of absence and Quiet decay — tied to the game’s melancholic story layer; keep talking to NPCs and exploring.
- Case closed — its visible flavor text says “Reach terminal velocity”. Find somewhere very high. Commit.
- Fishpaste — the community’s favorite oddity. We won’t spoil it here; it is the kind of achievement you earn by poking at the world rather than racing through it.
The Game Notices You
Players report moments where VHOLUME quietly reacts to progress — runs where “you feel different” or “something is different” after certain milestones. These are real scripted touches, not bugs; they are part of why the city feels inhabited despite its emptiness. We deliberately keep this section vague — discovering them cold is the best part.
